The Rock of Ages movie is by far the most entertaining and cool movie in years! I totally recommend it!
Tom Cruise is phenomenal and should definitely get an Oscar! The entire cast is great! The music includes some of the best songs ever written, by rock greats such as Warrant, Twisted Sister, Journey, Pat Benetar, Poison, Def Leppard, Scorpians, Guns N' Roses, REO Speedwagon, and more. It's also really funny in many parts.
An artsy-fartsy snoozfest it definately ain't! But, if you like great music, great acting and singing, comedy, a little bit of a history lesson, and a generally great movie to go see with your friends or a date, go see it ASAP! And if you do go with a date, you'll probably get lucky because there is a good amount of sexiness in this flick! LOL!
There is a lot of talk these days about Scientology Study Technology. Tom Cruise says it cured his dyslexia, and other top celebrities are opening up new private schools that utilize it. Not to mention other schools and Scientology Organizations that have been using it for years with great successes. But what is it?? Can it really help a person do better on SAT's and all other tests? Can it help raise IQ? Can it help someone get good grades and actually be able to apply what they learn in real life? Can it help a person remember what they read, and generally be smarter?
Below is a great video that teaches you how to study ANYTHING using Scientology Study Technology.
Dee Snider, the singer and main songwriter of metal legends Twisted Sister, and the "world's greatest front man", who is also a solo artist, DJ, radio show host, actor, producer and movie writer (Strangeland) can now add "reality star" to his credits. Dee has joined the ranks of other rock stars with their own TV shows such as Ozzy, Bret Michaels and Gene Simmons with his new show Growing Up Twisted on A & E.
It's funny how Dee has a reputation for being so wild on stage, but on his show he's the sanest one in the family! And all around the Net people are saying that he has one of the hottest reality show wives, his wife Suzette, with whom he's been with for like 30 years!
I must say the show is one of the most entertaining reality shows out there. You can get info and even watch full episodes on the website below.
The stars were out for The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre’s 41st Anniversary Gala held at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre in Hollywood last night.
Lady Gaga is breaking records in all types of ways lately.
To name a few, just over a week ago the 24 year old New Yorker became the first living person to have over 10 million Facebook fans!
A couple days ago she broke the attendance record for the Today Show having about 20,000 fans show up, lining up for blocks, and many sleeping out in the streets the night before just to for a CHANCE to see her perform a 30 minute set for the show.
Gaga is also the first artist to have her videos reach 1 billion views! Three of her music videos hold spots in the 100 Million Club, including "Poker Face" (374,606,128), "Just Dance" (272,941,674) and "Bad Romance" (360,020,327).
She is now the only digital-era artist to top the 5 million sales mark with her first two hits, according to Yahoo Music. Lady Gaga broke the record when her single "Poker Face" reached 5 million in sales after her debut single, "Just Dance," accomplished that feat last year.
If that's not enough, in an era where the concert industry is struggling to sell tickets, Gaga is selling out arenas all around the world for her “Monster Ball” tour.
Then it was the recent changing of the Grammy rules because of the contoversy over her first hit single, “Just Dance".
Why do so many people like Lady Gaga? Well for one thing, some of her songs are so darn catchy that even those people that don't really like her can't help but find themselves humming one of her tunes! Not to mention that she is a very refreshing change to the seriousness and blase sounds and attitude that the "Alternative" music scene has brought us over the past 15 years. I don't think it's coincidence that the music industry started dying around the time exciting and fun music and style started to disappear, and that about the only real surge it has experienced is when Lady Gaga revisited those 80's style's and attitude. She even tried to make it as one of those serious singer/piano player chicks just a few years ago, but thankfully she got dropped from her record company! And judging by her recent success, I think a few million other people are thankful she chose the path she did.
Rock vocal legend Ronnie James Dio passed away this week from stomach cancer.
Ronnie was widely regarded as one of the very best hard rock vocalists of all time. He first had success in the 60's with his "doo wop" style bands Ronnie Dio and the Prophets, and Ronnie and the Red Caps (do a search on Youtube, you won't believe your ears!), then as a hard rock singer as a member of Rainbow, then as Ozzy's replacement in Black Sabbath, recording what many regard as Black Sabbath's best albums- "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules". He then went on to a very successful solo career with his band Dio, with such hard rocking hits as "Rainbow In The Dark" and "Last In Line". Most recently he has been successfully touring the world with his Black Sabbath band mates calling the band "Heaven and Hell", to differentiate it from the Ozzy Osbourne headed version of Black Sabbath that has toured in recent years.
One thing you always hear about Ronnie that his friends and people who have met him say, is that he was such a nice, gracious and polite guy.
Dio can be credited with single handedly popularizing the "devil's horns" hand gesture at rock concerts, etc. Dio says that his grandmother used to make the hand gesture to ward off the evil eye, which is very common among superstitious Southern Italians. The "horns," or "Corna," themselves are used both to scare away and give someone the "Malocchio" (the Evil Eye). Nowadays the hand gesture has just come to mean something like "you rock" or "rock on" at virtually any rock concert you may attend these days. I've even seen photos of Miley Cyrus doing it!
There will be a Public Memorial Service for Ronnie James Dio on Sunday, May 30th at 2:00 PM at The Hall Of Liberty located at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

Things are looking much better for Poison frontman and TV Star Bret Michaels. Bret is now out of the hospital and his doctors are saying he will make a full recovery from his brain hemmorhage. Unbelievalbly, he is scheduled to resume his Roses and Thorns concert tour with his solo band BMB on May 26th!
Below is a video of the song Raine from one of Bret's solo albums. It's about his daughter named Raine.
The new Scientology website has some cool new features... a new look, and new videos such as videos of the beautiful new Scientology churches, and even the upcoming new churches! Check it out!
The Sweden Rock Festival 2010 is sure to be one of the best Sweden Rock Festivals ever! And I would say very probably one of the best music festivals period, anywhere! What a line up!! The SRF is one of few large festivals that showcases all hard rocking bands. Everything from heavy metal to pop-rock like Rick Springfield. Many of the best hard rocking bands of all time will be appearing at this year's Rock Fest.
First of all, Aerosmith is headlining this year's SRF! Guns N' Roses will be there too. And several of the other bands just happen to be many of my personal favorites! Such as: Cinderella, Billy Idol, Ratt, Winger, and even hilarious comedy-rockers Steel Panther!
Sweden Rock Festival performers from past years included: Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper, Journey, Def Leppard, Poison, Lita Ford, Scorpions, REO Speedwagon, Yes, and zillions more.
Here is Cinderella, one of the main acts at this years SRF.
I would say that this book, Self Analysis by renowned author and Founder of Dianetics and Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard is one of the most valuable books ever written. Ever! I’m not kidding! It’s a simple self-help book of tests and therapeutic procedures based on the discoveries contained in Dianetics, the best selling self-help book of all time, over 20 million copies sold!
Tons of research went into this book in order to give a person benefits of the incredible Dianetics counseling technology, without needing another person to administer it, and with a lighter approach. While at the same time it can be completely life changing!
Some of the benefits of Self Analysis can be:
Improved general health, more energy, better memory, allergy relief, pain relief, relief from fears and phobias, more confidence, better sleep, freedom from addictions and emotional problems, and higher IQ, just to name a few!
To watch a short video about Self Analysis and for info on on how to obtain the book click here: Self Analysis
Poison front man and Rock of Love star Bret Michaels will be one of the stars on this season's Celebrity Apprentice, along with Donald Trump, Cydie Lauper and an all new eclectic cast.
The Knack has always been one of my all time favorite bands. Their biggest album "Get The Knack" has sold over 6 million copies so far, and is a fantastic album from start to finish! It's just loaded with fun catchy power-pop rockers, backed by great musicianship. They are one of the tightest rock bands ever.
Unfortunately, Doug Fieger, leader of The Knack who sang on the 1979 hit "My Sharona," and all their other songs died of cancer this past Sunday. He was 57. I was fortunate enough to meet Doug after one of their concerts a couple years ago, the band sounded fantastic, and he couldn't have been a nicer guy!
Below is a video from one of their hit songs off of "Get The Knack":
I was fortunate enough to be at Ringo Starr's Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony where Ringo got his own star! It was a really great star studded affair. Thousands of fans showed up, along with a media circus outside the Capitol Records building in Hollywood where the it was held.
Congrats to AC/DC, one of the greatest hard rock bands of all time, for being nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album - Black Ice, and Best Hard Rock Performance - War Machine.
Here is a great live video of Thunderstruck, one of my all time favorite AC/DC songs: http://www.acdc.com/
